What inspired you to pursue a career in welding engineering, and how has your journey been as a young female engineer in the industry?

While doing my masters in Welding Technology, I decided to work in my core field none other anything. As like that I got an opportunity to start my career in welding through my campus drive. While entering into my work field everyone has been very curious about me, because I'm the first female employee of the company that is also in different field like Welding.


What are some of the most innovative techniques or technologies you’ve implemented in your role as a welding engineer?

I have implemented online flux recovery system for submerged arc welding Joint modification to reduce the rejection percentage Welding fixture modification to reduce the setting change over time


What has been the most challenging project you’ve worked on, and how did you overcome the technical and operational hurdles?

The most challenging project I was worked is to reduce the UT rejection percentage by modifying joint design by implementing straighteners and educated workers.


How do you ensure safety and quality in your welding processes, and what steps do you take to exceed industry standards?

We have an system called "switch on to safe" for every shift while starting the work, the worker need to ensure the workplace where they work/the surrounding of the machine is safe to work, they have to fill the card and keep it their self if there any safety concerns found they have to fill the card and give it to the supervisor... After ensuring their safety only they allowed to work on the machine


Where do you see yourself in the next 5-10 years, and how do you plan to contribute to the future of welding technology?

I can see myself as an experienced women welding engineer who can use her knowledge in welding to contribute nation's development projects.


What advice would you give to young women who are interested in pursuing careers in welding engineering or other technical fields?

Welding is a most demanding and challenging career where you can develop yourself and gain more knowledge my experience... There is nothing to fear, we are here to support you. Among the people who fear or not comfort to work in the core field, I have been came over such things and successfully pursuing my job. I'm the first and foremost female employee of the company that is also in the welding field with strong courage & without any hesitation to work among with the men.
