Welwyn tool supports new plastic welder training centre

TWI has opened a new Plastic Welder Training Centre located at its Technology and Training premises in Middlesbrough.
The state-of-the-art training centre is the only facility in the UK that offers training and certification in plastic pipe welding, fabrication welding (hot gas and extrusion) and lining membrane welding in accordance with the European Standard for Approval Testing of Plastics Welders, EN 13067, via the internationally recognised CSWIP Certification Scheme.
From 2020, the centre will also offer courses in plastic pipe inspection for visual welding inspectors, as well as plastic welding inspectors.
Welwyn Tool Group Ltd, the UK’s sales and service centre for the full range of Leister plastic welding and industrial process heat equipment, is supporting the purpose-built training centre by providing TWI with the latest equipment and tools, to support TWI’s team of plastic welding experts, who have been delivering courses for well over 20 years.
