Mr J. K. Nanda is well known personality in welding Industry since 1970.
After his Post Graduation form IIT Kharagpur in 1970 joined prestigious organization L&T as Welding Engineer and worked at Heavy Engineering works Powai. He was head of various disciplines in Welding, Metallurgy, Inspection. At L&T he with his team developed and introduced many advanced techniques in India for the first time.
Mr. Nanda was CEO of Jt. Venture L&T & Eutectic Switzerland. He was elevated to Vice President Position in E&C Group. He retired from L&T in 2006.
Mr Nanda Joined as MD & CEO of T Put Welding India, a venture of Thyssen and Bohler Group Germany in India until he retired from it in 2009.
- He was the Chairman of IIW Mumbai branch.
- He was Past President of IIW 1995-1997, and Founder President of IWS.
- He was actively associated with IIW, first time International Welding conference in India a benchmark assembly in 1996.
- Mr. Nanda is a Life Fellow member of IIW and Life Fellow of IWS.
- He has been a member of BIS for a long period and developed many Indian standards.
- He has been awarded wit LP Mishra Memorial award ( 1991), Lincoln award (1992), KCP award (1993-1994), Eutectic Award (1994-95).
As a Technocrat, Mr. Nanda has immensely contributed to Indian Welding Industry which was nascent in 70’s, where even welding Carbon steel with E 7018 Stainless steel by Saw was considered as High Tech.
Time has changed and we are in new Tech Era.
